Now available at the Apple App Store, two new tools from ShorTel bring its unified communications and telephony functionality to iOS users.
ShoreTel’s Mobility 6 is an iPad app that allows users to place and receive calls with their business persona (their ShoreTel desk phone caller ID). Users place calls from their tablet using the speaker or a Bluetooth headset. Integrated VPN SSL encryption ensures security. They can exchange instant messages, listen to voicemail and create multi-party calls by swiping names from caller directories. This app is available to ShoreTel Sky users and SIP-supported IP PBXs from Avaya and Cisco.
ShoreTel Conferencing for iOS is designed for collaboration among users. They can easily share presentations controlled by either the iPad or iPhone with remote participants and can view fellow workers PC or Mac desktops.
“As more staff members bring tablets to our university, having an intuitive ShoreTel Mobility client for the iPad is more valuable than ever before,” said Hernan London, associate CIO, Barry University. “It enables greater mobile communications for all — while minimizing the demand on our IT department for support.”
