Grund Audio Design has debuted a pair of speakers that’s perfect for portable use. The company is now selling the STP-8 and STP-5S individually or as a package.
The company has designed this pair to work together, though. The STP-8 has a pole-mounted top box that sits atop the STP-5S subwoofer. The package boasts an easy setup and the sound needed for just about any robust application.
That STP-8 has an 8-inch low-frequency (LF) transducer and a 1-inch high-frequency (HF) compression driver. The enclosure has the pole cup for mounting and is rated at 300 watts at 8 ohms.
The STP-5S sub, on the other hand, can support 500 watts at 8 ohms and has a horn-loaded 15-inch transducer packed into that compact enclosure. With its four casters, Grund says that one person can easily move this unit.
When brought together, the pair can crank frequencies that range from 50 Hz-18 kHz.
“Our new STP-8 / STP-5S portable sound system delivers rich, full-sounding audio reproduction in a surprisingly compact form factor that makes it ideal for both traveling musicians and DJs,” says Frank Grund, president of Grund Audio Design. “The system is equally well suited for use in churches and A/V conference facilities—thanks to its ability to move easily and setup quickly. This is a great sounding, good-looking, and highly portable setup. I genuinely believe this new sound system will be well received by all who audition it.”
Manufactured right here in the U.S., Grund has priced the STP-8 at $299 each, with the STP-5S going for $799. If you want two of each with the mounting poles, Grund is offering a package deal at $2,199.
