The Apex Awards honor innovation in digital signage. Every year, nominees in ten different categories are judged on how they deploy digital displays. The categories the installations fall under are Arts, Entertainment & Recreation, Business, Industry & Government, Education & Health Care, Event Venues, Food & Beverage, Hospitality, Interactive Self-Service, Public Spaces and Retail and Transportation.
The nominees are evaluated according to how well they overcame challenges presented by the project, the uniqueness of their solution and the project’s benefit to the viewer. Three finalists are chosen in each of the categories and are given either the gold, silver or bronze Apex award.
This year’s winners of the Apex Award include everything from an interactive self-service Pepsi machine to a university-wide digital signage deployment. Each project differs in purpose and scope, but manages to communicate with its intended audience in a creative way.
